My Favorite H!P Songs of 2017

It’s that time of the year again! It’s time to take a look back at what 2017 produced, H!P edition. Honestly, I’m a bit disappointed with H!P releases overall, I found it a bit underwhelming.

But I still managed to put together a list of the songs I liked this year~

Checkout: My Favorite H!P Songs of 2016

Excludes albums and single digital releases (kind of) ^_^

Tsubaki Factory

Uruwashi no Camellia

Tsubaki factory had an amazing year. They finally debuted and the songs they released were all spectacular. It was a close call between ‘Uruwashi no Camellia’ and ‘Hatsukoi Sunrise’. In the end their Camellia song won; I love songs the center  around the group. It’s so cute and simple. I can replay it to till end of time. (x)

Honorable Mention: Hatsukoi Sunrise

Kobushi Factory

Shalala! Yareru Hazu sa

Opposite of Tsubaki, Kobushi Factory did not have a wonderful year. They lost a lot and on top of that they only release one single this year, ouch!  Honestly I’m not super fond of the single they released this year, but I only had two songs to choose from. I think ‘Shalala’ is a good song, but it definitely had to grow on me. (x)

Country Girls

Peanut Butter Jelly Love

Can you say something is too cute? No, you can not. ‘Peanut Butter Jelly Love’ is my favorite type of annoyingly cute song. It makes me happy and annoys others (which makes me happier). I love the intro as well, it’s so beautiful T_T. I’m a bit sad that Country Girls are on a semi-hiatus; they were the only H!P serving legit cute concepts. (x)

Honorable Mention: Konamaiki Girl

Juice=Juice

fiestafiesta-r

Fiesta! Fiesta!

Fiesta Fiesta! Ruru slays my soul in the beginning of this song. Juice=Juice, along with Kobushi Factory, only released one single this year. Which is disappointing because I didn’t like the single they released. Not one bit. Fiesta Fiesta was (is) a blessing. I hope they have a better year. (x)

Angerme

Ai Sae Areba Nanni mo Iranai

The thing I like the most about Angerme is their dip into something edgy and a bit rock-ish. It really spices up their discography and sets them apart from the other H!P groups. ‘Ai Sae Areba Nanni mo Iranai’ isn’t fully there, but it’s something. (x)

Honorable Mention: Kisokutadashiku Utsukushiku

Morning Musume

Jama Shinai de Here We Go!

Morning Musume came back from the dead this year! Two singles and a full album release. I’m so happy T_T. It was also tough to pick a favorite song from them as well.  ‘Jama Shinai de’ surprised me when I first saw it. I was positively overwhelmed, there was nothing about it that I didn’t like. Perrrfecto! (x)

Honorable Mention: Jealousy Jealousy

Thanks for reading! Please tell me about your favorite songs this year!

  1. Last year, Morning Musume performed at a Korean music festival. So, maybe you heard it from that time? They’re also a pretty long standing and popular j-pop group.
But yeah, I don’t know how much experience you have with J-pop but listening to H!P for the first time can be an experience.

  2. I’ve never listened to any of these before. Although I’ve heard Morning Musume’s name come up somewhere. Not exactly sure where. I’ll make sure to search them out when I get some free time. 🙂
